Glen Archies Portrait Prize

The Glen Archies Portrait Exhibition this the gallery’s major bi-annual event and will have its gala opening on Saturday 25 May.  There are three categories: 2D, 3D and Photography and entry forms are available for download below or at the gallery.  With prize money totalling $2100, it is well worth artists considering submitting an entry.

December 2012 Raffle winner

The winner of the Glen Innes Art Gallery raffle was new volunteer Christine Engel. Congratulations, Christine.  The prize was a photograph by Nicci Jones of a town scape in Oaxaca, Mexico.

The gallery runs a raffle concurrently with each exhibition, funds go towards gallery maintenance, your support is appreciated.

BEACH, BUSH + BATTLERS: PHOTOGRAPHS BY JEFF CARTER

 

Jeff Carter was a writer, photographer, publisher and documentary film maker who made a living telling stories about rural characters and working families from across Australia. The 41 Jeff Carter photographs in Beach, Bush & Battlers have been selected from his remarkable, historically significant archive of over 50,000 works celebrating the lives of everyday Australians in rural, outback, urban and coastal communities dating from the late 1940s through to the 21 century.

 

 

This fascinating photographic exhibition will be on display in the Glen Innes Art Gallery at The Learning Centre from 4th February to 1st March. A Gala Opening will take place on Saturday 2nd February at 4pm.
